Which screeds do we lay?

How do the common laying methods differ?
Floating screed
- From 4.5-5cm thickness
- Can be used anywhere where thermal or impact sound insulation is to be installed under the screed. The screed floor is thus "decoupled" from the subsurface.
- Areas of application: residential and administrative rooms

Screed on separating layer
- 1-2 layers of PE foil screed from 4.5 cm
- Suitable for storage rooms or rooms in which impact sound or heat insulation is not required and bonded screed is not suitable or possible.
- Areas of application: ancillary and basement rooms, commercial spaces, balconies and terraces

compound screed
- From 3cm in thickness
- Stable under load as it is connected (glued) to the subsurface. Suitable for areas used by cars.

fast dash
- Adding an accelerator reduces the drying time until the floor is ready for covering.
- Normally one calculates a drying time of one week per centimeter of screed. So you have a drying time of 5 weeks for every 5cms of screed. This can be drastically reduced with fast dash
Advantages: shorter drying time higher stability
lightweight screed
This type of screed is used where only little weight is allowed on the subsoil. Usually mixed with additives such as EPS Styrofoam recycling, minerals and quick hardeners to achieve the low weight.
